Remove the radio
Insert four round DIN extraction tools (e.g. PC5-133 by Autoleads) into the round holes on both sides of the radio until you feel a click. Pull the radio forward about 5–7 cm. You do not need to disconnect the cables to read the serial number.

Read the VWZ serial number
The serial number is on the white sticker on the left or right side of the radio. It starts with VWZ and is 14 characters long (e.g. VWZAZ1N6251566). Carefully distinguish the letter O from the digit 0. Sticker damaged? The code may also be engraved into the metal chassis.

Enter the serial number
Enter the full VWZ serial number below. After receiving the unlock code, enter it using the four preset buttons (1–4) and confirm with the SCAN/seek button (hold for approx. 2 seconds). Note: after 2 wrong attempts the radio locks for 1 hour.
