Dacia radio code: everything you need to know

The Dacia car radio security code is a 4-digit code that protects your radio after a power interruption. Dacia vehicles use radio systems related to those of Renault. After a battery change or disconnecting the battery, the Dacia radio automatically asks for the security code.

At RadioCodeLookup.com you can request the Dacia radio code via the PRE-code or serial number of your radio. Like Renault, many Dacia models allow you to find the PRE-code by pressing buttons 1 and 5 simultaneously. A code consisting of a letter and three digits will then appear on the display.

Our service covers the popular Dacia models, from the Logan and Sandero to the Duster, Lodgy and Dokker. Receive your Dacia car radio code directly by email, fast and reliable.

Guide

Where do you find your Dacia code?

1

Retrieve the PRE-code via the display

Dacia uses the same radio system as Renault. Turn on the ignition so the radio shows "CODE". Hold buttons 1 and 6 simultaneously. After a few seconds the PRE-code appears on the display: one letter followed by three digits (e.g. T019). If that does not work, try buttons 1+5.

2

Note the PRE-code

Write down the PRE-code carefully. Nothing showing on the display? You will need to remove the radio using DIN extraction tools and read the sticker on the side or rear of the radio.

3

Enter the PRE-code

Enter your PRE-code in the field below. We will instantly calculate the correct unlock code. Then enter it via the preset buttons (1–4) on the radio and confirm with button 5 or 6.

Expected format

e.g. T019

The PRE-code consists of 1 letter followed by 3 digits (e.g. T019). Dacia uses the same system as Renault.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about Dacia radio codes

Everything you need to know about retrieving and entering your Dacia car radio unlock code.

How do I find the PRE-code of my Dacia car radio?

Hold buttons 1 and 5 (or 1 and 6) simultaneously while the radio is switched on. The PRE-code will then appear on the display. This code consists of a letter followed by three digits. If this does not work, the code is on a sticker on the side of the radio.

Why does my Dacia Duster or Logan ask for a radio code?

Dacia vehicles before 2015 are equipped with a radio system with built-in theft protection, similar to Renault systems. After every power interruption — such as during a battery change — the protection activates automatically and a radio code is required.

How do I enter the radio code on my Dacia Sandero or Logan?

Use preset buttons 1 through 4 to enter the four digits of the radio code. Each button increases the corresponding digit. Confirm the code by pressing the OK button or seek button. Consult your manual for the exact method for your model.

How quickly will I receive the Dacia radio code via RadioCodeLookup.com?

After payment, you will receive the Dacia car radio code automatically by email, usually within 30 seconds. The service is available 24/7, so you can always continue directly.

Is the Dacia radio code the same as a Renault?

Dacia and Renault share many technical components, including radio systems. The method for retrieving the PRE-code or serial number is similar. RadioCodeLookup.com fully supports both Dacia and Renault.

What information do I need to request a Dacia radio code?

You need the PRE-code or serial number of your radio. On most Dacia models, the PRE-code can be retrieved directly via the radio display by pressing buttons 1 and 5 simultaneously. Enter this code on RadioCodeLookup.com to receive your radio code.

Can I request the Dacia radio code from the dealer?

Yes, a Dacia dealer can retrieve the radio code. This usually involves costs and waiting time. Via RadioCodeLookup.com you receive the code directly and more cheaply, without a visit to a dealer.

What do I do if my Dacia radio is blocked after incorrect codes?

Leave the radio switched on for at least 1 hour without making new attempts. After that you can try again with the correct code from RadioCodeLookup.com. Never enter random codes to prevent further blocking.

Renault & Dacia

The Renault radio code, start to finish

How to find your Renault pre-code

Almost every original Renault radio (Tuner List, Update List, Philips, Continental) shows its own pre-code. So there's nothing to take apart: one letter followed by three digits, for example V873 or F356. That pre-code is all we need.

  1. Switch on the ignition. The radio shows "CODE" or "0000".
  2. Press and hold buttons 1 and 6 together for a few seconds.
  3. The pre-code appears on the display: a letter + three digits (e.g. V873).
  4. Write it down and enter it with your order — that's the only thing we need.

On some models buttons 1 and 5 do the job instead of 1 and 6. If you see a longer or all-numeric sequence, that is not a pre-code: use the chassis-number route instead.

Where is the label with the pre-code?

If the display stays blank — because the radio is fully locked, for instance — the code is also on a sticker on the radio housing. You'll need to pull the unit out of the dashboard with two removal keys (a couple of euros at any car parts shop).

The label sits on the top or the side of the housing. Take a sharp photo of it: our system reads the pre-code straight off the picture. Also check the service-book wallet — Renault often supplied the car with a card showing the radio code.

How to enter the code in your radio

  1. Switch on the ignition and wait until the display shows "CODE".
  2. Press button 1 until the first digit is right, button 2 for the second, button 3 for the third and button 4 for the fourth.
  3. Then press and hold button 6 until the radio unlocks itself (about two seconds).
  4. The radio plays again. The code stays valid: keep it for the next battery change.

Only enter the code once you're sure it's right. After a few wrong attempts the radio locks temporarily and the waiting time doubles with every further attempt. If that happens, leave the ignition on and wait — the unit frees itself.

No pre-code? Then we use the chassis number

Newer touchscreen radios, and units that refuse to show anything at all, have no pre-code. For original radios from roughly 2010 onwards we can retrieve the code through your VIN (chassis number): Renault links that number to the factory-fitted radio. It takes us more work and therefore costs double, but it works where the pre-code gets you nowhere.
