Dacia Dokker radio code

The Dacia Dokker is a compact MPV and light van based on the Lodgy platform. Like other Dacia models, it is fitted with a Renault radio with PRE-code. As a commercial vehicle, the code card is frequently missing.

The Renault radio code, start to finish

How to find your Renault pre-code

Almost every original Renault radio (Tuner List, Update List, Philips, Continental) shows its own pre-code. So there's nothing to take apart: one letter followed by three digits, for example V873 or F356. That pre-code is all we need.

  1. Switch on the ignition. The radio shows "CODE" or "0000".
  2. Press and hold buttons 1 and 6 together for a few seconds.
  3. The pre-code appears on the display: a letter + three digits (e.g. V873).
  4. Write it down and enter it with your order — that's the only thing we need.

On some models buttons 1 and 5 do the job instead of 1 and 6. If you see a longer or all-numeric sequence, that is not a pre-code: use the chassis-number route instead.

Where is the label with the pre-code?

If the display stays blank — because the radio is fully locked, for instance — the code is also on a sticker on the radio housing. You'll need to pull the unit out of the dashboard with two removal keys (a couple of euros at any car parts shop).

The label sits on the top or the side of the housing. Take a sharp photo of it: our system reads the pre-code straight off the picture. Also check the service-book wallet — Renault often supplied the car with a card showing the radio code.

How to enter the code in your radio

  1. Switch on the ignition and wait until the display shows "CODE".
  2. Press button 1 until the first digit is right, button 2 for the second, button 3 for the third and button 4 for the fourth.
  3. Then press and hold button 6 until the radio unlocks itself (about two seconds).
  4. The radio plays again. The code stays valid: keep it for the next battery change.

Only enter the code once you're sure it's right. After a few wrong attempts the radio locks temporarily and the waiting time doubles with every further attempt. If that happens, leave the ignition on and wait — the unit frees itself.

No pre-code? Then we use the chassis number

Newer touchscreen radios, and units that refuse to show anything at all, have no pre-code. For original radios from roughly 2010 onwards we can retrieve the code through your VIN (chassis number): Renault links that number to the factory-fitted radio. It takes us more work and therefore costs double, but it works where the pre-code gets you nowhere.
